Nestled in the rugged terrain of the Uwharrie Mountains, Tot Hill Farm Golf Club is a true masterpiece of Mike Strantz's architectural genius. The course, originally opened in 2000, has been lovingly restored to its former glory, maintaining Strantz's original design without major alterations. Golfers can expect the unexpected at Tot Hill, with its dramatic elevation changes, stunning rock formations, and challenging layouts that blend seamlessly into the natural surroundings.
The recent Phase 1 restoration prioritized the resurfacing of all 18 greens with cutting-edge Prizm Zoysia grass. This new variety, developed by Bladerunner Farms, ensures top-notch playing conditions year-round. The greens are not only cold and shade-tolerant but also require 50% fewer chemical applications and heal quickly from ball marks. Along with resurfaced greens, the historic 150-year-old farmhouse has been transformed into the new clubhouse, adding charm and character to your experience. Other restoration efforts included leveling and sodding tee areas, repairing bridges, and restoring cart paths.
The layout at Tot Hill is as breathtaking as it is demanding. As described by Golf Digest, Strantz "worked from the pure rock of the Uwharrie Mountain Range and carved fairways that look like ski slopes." This picturesque and challenging course will test every part of your game, from tee to green.
Weather Report:
Monday will have cloudy skies with a high of 79°F, light winds, and a 30% chance of rain, with storms in the area and thunderstorms likely developing late in the evening. On Tuesday, expect morning showers followed by cloudy conditions in the afternoon, with a high of 79°F and a 30% chance of rain, accompanied by light, variable winds.
