Players to Watch
USC Upstate: Junior Guard, Mason Bendinger was announced as the Big South Co-Player of the Week after helping Upstate go 2-0 during the week of Dec. 1-6 averaging 21.0 points through both games including his career high of 27 points in the comeback win against Coastal Carolina on Wednesday, December 3rd. Bendinger followed with a 15-point performance in the win against Western Carolina on Saturday, December 6th. Bendinger is ranked #19 in the NCAA with 70 field goals made, #70 with 177 total points, and #40 in field goal attempts with 137. Mason Bendinger looks to continue his consistent play as Upstate takes on their first ranked opponent since November 11, 2022.
North Carolina: Freshman Forward, Caleb Wilson leads the Tar Heels averaging a double-double of 19.3 points per game and 10.3 rebounds. Wilson's season-high was in his second collegiate game against Kansas where he scored 24 points in 30 minutes while adding his season-high with four steals. Wilson is shooting 53 percent from the field and 77 percent from the charity stripe while leading the Tar Heels with a team high of 14 steals. The Spartans will look to contain one of the top freshmen in the country.
