
Sophia Kardatzke tallies her fourth Freshman of the Week honor

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Big South Conference announced the Softball weekly awards Monday, March 24 where Sophia Kardatzke was featured as the Big South Freshman of the Week for the fourth time on the season. Sophia Kardatzke continues to build a case proving that to be one of the best in the Big South and NCAA.Â
The Freshman from Jacksonville, Florida has appeared in all 32 games played where she leads the Big South in the slugging percentage category at .743, 45 hits, and seven home runs. In the two games played during the week of March 17-22, Sophia Kardatzke posted a .444 batting average, four hits, one RBI, and a slugging percentage of .556. In the circle, Kardatzke started game two against East Tennessee State University and pitched seven innings while only giving up one hit and one earned run. Kardatzke also struck out eight batters including not allowing a hit or a run for the final six innings in the 5-1 win. With four Freshman of the Week honors on her resume, Sophia Kardatzke continues to have the drive to help the Spartans win while being top-20 in the NCAA for hits and top-10 in doubles.
