Event Preview
For the second meet of the season, USC Upstate cross-country travels to Charlotte for the Queen City Invite. This is the first time since 2018 that both teams have competed in a race hosted by Queens. At the Eye Opener, both the men's and women's teams posted top ten finishes.
Sam Shimanskiy led the men's team at the Eye Opener, posting a time of 26:07.5. Shimanskiy was followed by teammates Ian Kelbert and Mason Parish, who ran 26:21.1 and 26:27.1, respectively.
Leading the way for the women's team so far this season, Jordan Thornton ran a time of 19:10.5 at the Eye Opener. Thornton was followed by Grace Glassmeyer, who posted a 19:54.0. Sophia Outhous rounded out the top three times, running a 20:25.3.
