SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Back at home and continuing conference play, USC Upstate women's soccer hosted the High Point University Panthers this evening. The Spartans outshot the Panthers 20-7, walking away with the 2-0 shutout victory.
Playing all 90 minutes of the match, sophomore
Riley O'Bryan had a career night, netting both Spartan goals for her first-ever collegiate brace. She led the team in shots with four, aiming three on target.
Savannah Noll and
Morgan de Barros picked up the assists.
Caroline Simpkins added three shots of her own, with one on goal.
Emily Rangel and
Morgan Nelson each put up three shots, followed by
Paige Armstrong with two.
In between the pipes,
Madison Ejgird made some critical saves to earn her second shutout victory of the season, finishing the night with a career-high five saves.

1st Half:
Paige Armstrong took the first shot of the match, which was followed by
Emily Rangel minutes later.
Caroline Simpkins took her first shot of the match at the 13-minute mark.
Madison Ejgird made her first save of the night 26 minutes into the match.
Riley O'Bryan found the back of the net 29 minutes in off an assist by
Savannah Noll. Seven minutes later, O'Bryan scored again, this time off a pass from
Morgan de Barros.
Madison Ejgird made a pair of big-time saves to close out the half.
2nd Half:
Caroline Simpkins opened the second half with a shot that went high.
Emily Rangel and
Paige Armstrong added shots of their own.
Hannah Johnson had her shot saved by the Panthers' keeper at the 66-minute mark, followed by a shot save from
Catarina Dantas. The Spartans kept testing the High Point keeper, firing off three more shots aimed on goal.
Madison Ejgird made her last save of the night with two minutes remaining in the match.

- Riley O'Bryan set a new career high in shots with four and tied her career high in shots on goal with three. She also set a new career high in minutes played with 90.
- Savannah Noll set a season-high in minutes, playing all 90. She notched her third assist of the season
