
Men’s Basketball announces Amont’e Allen-Johnson as another piece to the 2026-27 signing class

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Head Coach, Marty Richter has announced Amont'e All-Johnson to the 2026-27 signing class for USC Upstate Men's Basketball ahead of the new campaign. Allen-Johnson transfers from Florida Southwestern State College appearing in 30 games and starting in 26 during the 2025-26 season.
Allen-Johnson averaged 8.1 points a game with his season high being 19 points against Ranger College and added 11 double figure games. Johnson followed by adding 3.5 rebounds a game and 3.7 assists a game proving to fill the stats sheet on a nightly basis to do whatever it took for his team to win. On the defensive side, Amont'e Allen-Johnson added one steal a game with seven games with two steals or more including a season high of four steals against Florida Coastal Prep on December 12, 2025. Prior to Florida Southwestern, Amont'e Allen-Johnson was a standout at Indian Hills Community College being a NJCAA D1 Men's Basketball All-Region 11 Second Team Selection, Two-time ICCAC DI Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week and averaged 7.3 points a game in the 23 games he appeared including adding eight games in double figures. Being a standout in High School, Amont'e Allen-Johnson attended Dream City Christian Prep in Glendale, Arizona as a player under Coach Kyle Weaver. Originally from Flint, Michigan, he attended Grand Blanc High School where he was named All-State and Saginaw Valley League MVP after averaging 13.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.9 steals. He also led Grand Blanc to the 2021 State Championship and back-to-back state championship appearances.
Head Coach Marty Richter expressed the presence that could be brought by Allen-Johnson mentioning "Amont'e is an extremely hard-nosed player who is going to make an impact both in our program and the Upstate community. We look forward to him arriving on campus this summer and bringing that toughness to our court and locker room every day. Our staff is excited to get to work with him and help him maximize his potential starting in June!"
Amont'e Allen-Johnson will look to bring his toughness to the program and provide a presence that will be appreciated in the culture of the Marty Richter era. As he embarks on a new chapter in June, he will add toughness and grit to the program.
