Ella Christopher wraps up regular season play with being named Big South Softball Player of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Wrapping up regular season play, the Big South Conference announced the weekly awards for the week of April 27-May 3 where Senior Infielder, Ella Christopher was named the Big South Softball Player of the Week. Â
The Senior from Longwood, Florida has been a key piece to the lineup for Upstate and adds her first weekly award with Upstate and since February 18, 2025, with Gardner-Webb. Christopher's senior season has seen success in the lineup batting .321 while leading the team with a career-high of 15 doubles, tied first with 43 RBI, and a career-high of 54 hits. Christopher homered three times and added a .476 slugging percentage. In Game two against Presbyterian, Christopher led Upstate in the comeback win going 3-for-4 at the plate while adding a three-RBI Day and one run scored. Finishing the weekend batting .333 and .444 slugging percentage, Christopher adds another weekly honor to her loaded collegiate resume and will turn her attention to the 2026 Big South Softball Championships where the Spartans will take on #3 seed, Radford on Thursday, May 7 at Noon.Â
