Baseball Earns Four CSC Academic All-District Selections

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Tacking on to a historic 2026 season for USC Upstate baseball, the Spartans find themselves with four College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honorees as sophomore left-handed pitcher Max Kaplan, redshirt sophomore catcher Tyler Lang, senior first baseman Wylie Waters, and redshirt sophomore rightfielder Henry Zenor each earned the honor as announced by the organization Monday.

Zenor, a native of St. Louis, Mo., advances to the national ballot for CSC Academic All-America with voting to be conducted by CSC members. The Academic All-America announcement is set for June 23, 2026.

Named College Sports Communicators Academic All-District … Named Big South Starting Pitcher of the Week on 5/11/26 … Appeared in 20 games, making 12 starts and eight relief appearances … Tossed 71.2 innings, striking out 64 batters … Posted an 8.04 strikeout per nine innings total … Recorded a 5-5 record and two saves with a 5.65 ERA and .283 opponents' batting average … Tossed a career-high-tying 9.0 innings versus Presbyterian on 5/9/26 … Struck out a season-high seven on four occasions: over 6.0 innings of work versus Western Carolina on 2/17/26; over 7.0 innings of work versus Gardner-Webb on 5/2/26; over 9.0 innings of work versus Presbyterian on 5/9/26; and over 4.0 innings of work versus Northern Kentucky on 5/15/26 … Recorded eight scoreless outings and five quality starts on the season.
