For the First Time in Program History, Baseball Earns a Place on D1 Baseball's Top 100 Teams

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – USC Upstate baseball added another historic achievement to its growing list of accomplishments as the Spartans were ranked No. 84 in D1Baseball's 2026 Top 100 College Baseball Programs, marking the first time in program history Upstate has been ranked among the publication's Top 100 programs.
The historic recognition comes following another championship season for the Spartans and continues the program's rise on the national college baseball landscape.
Upstate earned the No. 84 spot in D1Baseball's annual rankings after putting together another postseason run in 2026. The Spartans captured their second consecutive Big South Tournament Championship, defeating Longwood, 8-1, in a winner-take-all championship game to secure the conference's automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.
The championship sent Upstate to the NCAA Tournament for the second straight season as the Spartans competed as the No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tuscaloosa Regional. The Spartans also earned their first tournament win in program history against Oklahoma State. Upstate finished the 2026 campaign with a 34-30 overall record while once again representing the Big South on the national stage.
The 2026 season continued a historic stretch for the program after Upstate broke through for its first NCAA Division I Regional appearance in 2025. The Spartans captured both the Big South regular-season and tournament championships that season before advancing to the NCAA Clemson Regional.
