CHARLOTTE, N.C. – USC Upstate volleyball begins a four-match road swing on Wednesday evening, traveling to the Queen City of Charlotte to take on the Queens Royals. First serve from Curry Arena is set for 6 p.m.

The Spartans enter the match with a 3-2 overall record after going 1-1 in their first home action of the season this past weekend. Upstate cruised to a 3-0 sweep of Alabama State before dropping a hard-fought 3-1 decision at the hands of West Florida.

Spartans On the Attack

Sophomore Summer Kohler continued her impressive start to the season after smashing a team-high 34 kills in two matches while leading the Spartans on the year with 77 kills to go with a .206 hitting percentage.

Middle blocker Kensley Haneline finished the weekend with 22 kills and a team-best .512 hitting percentage, including .524 versus Alabama State. Haneline has eclipsed double-digit kills in four of five matches this year.

Leading Charge in the Offense

Junior setter Kamyla Vega David has facilitated the Spartans attack early in the campaign, dishing out 184 assists, which ranks top in the conference. David notched 41 helpers in the sweep of Alabama State before handing out 39 assists in the weekend finale against UWF.

Scouting Queens University of Charlotte

The Royals are still searching for their first win of the season after dropping five in a row to start the 2026 season. Queens took Coastal Carolina to the brink on August 30, jumping out to a 2-1 lead over the Chanticleers before falling in the final two sets.

Emma Norris leads the way at the net for Queens, collecting a team-high 51 kills while Callie DeSchryver has added 44. Marlee Cook has 85 assists, and Tilley Collins anchors the defense with a team-best 49 digs.
