2019-2020 (Junior Season): Tate appeared in five games this season for the Spartans and started in the final home game of the regular season against Winthrop (2/27/2020)…Tate scored his only basket of the season against Bob Jones (12/21/19) and he played a season high 9 minutes against Truett-McConnell (11/8/19)…Tate also had a pair of rebounds and a pair of assists against Truett-McConnell…The Spartanburg native completed his degree in three years and will be graduating in May 2020.
2018-19 (Sophomore): Played in a total of 12 games with 1 start during his sophomore season. Tate averaged 3.5 minutes per game with an average of 0.6 points per game. He scored a total of 7 points on the season with 2 points scored in 3 different games: Truett-McConnell, Charleston Southern, and Hampton. Tate also had 12 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, and 1 steal on the season. Season high 3 rebounds in a win against Brevard on Nov. 10th.
2017-18 (Freshman): Did not appear in any games.
High School: Graduated from Spartanburg High School where he lettered three years in basketball and one in football…Competed in the Spartanburg vs. Greenville FCA All-Star Basketball Challenge…As a senior, averaged 7.8 points and 6.8 rebounds per game…Also contributed 2.1 blocks per game.
Personal: Born on November 25, 1998…Parents are Andre and Jamile Tate…Has two sisters, Andrea (28) and Naomi (20).
