Minus (G, 6-2, 180, Douglasville, Ga.) will transfer to Upstate after his sophomore season at Miami Dade in 2008-09. He is a key player on the Sharks' squad which is currently 5-0 on the year. He averages 7.0 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game for Miami Dade and has connected on 41.7 percent of his three-point attempts on the year. Miami Dade was ranked No. 3 in the nation in the preseason poll released by the Sporting News and is currently ranked No. 1 in the latest Florida Community College Athletic Association (FCCAA) poll. He helped lead the Sharks to an 18-9 overall record and an 8-4 mark in the Southern Conference of the FCCAA as a freshman last year. He averaged 8.9 points, 1.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. He ranked second on the team with 27 three-pointers and hit 38.0 percent of his attempts from behind the arc.

"He's such a great kid and a very good teammate. He makes everyone around him better with his attitude and work ethic. He is happy that he chose Upstate. Coach (Steve) Smith and the rest of the coaching staff did a great job recruiting him."
Prior to his two seasons at Miami Dade, Minus was a standout player at Lithia Springs High School outside of Atlanta in Douglasville. He was named the Douglas County Player of the Year and was an All-Region selection his senior season in 2006-07 after leading Lithia Springs to a 27-3 record, an appearance in the second round of the AAAA state playoffs and a final No. 9 state ranking. He led the Lions to a perfect 16-0 record and the region championship in Region 5-AAAA while averaging 19 points. Lithia Springs finished the 2005-06 season with a 19-7 overall record and a second-place finish in Region 4-AAAA with an 8-2 record. Minus averaged 12 points as a junior and 10 points as a sophomore. In all, he led the Lions to three appearances in the AAAA state tournament in four years as a member of the varsity team. He started his prep career at Douglas County High School, but transferred to Lithia Springs prior to the start of the second semester of his freshman year. Upon transferring to Lithia Springs, he played on the freshman team before moving up to the varsity squad by the end of the season.
