
Spartans Conclude Play in USC Upstate Fall Classic

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The USC Upstate men's tennis team wrapped up play in the first of five tournaments during the fall season, finishing play in the USC Upstate Fall Classic at the Upstate Tennis Complex.
Brothers Ramiro and Gonzalo Blanco reached the semifinals of the men's doubles 'A' before falling to the duo of Eudaldo Bonet and Daniel Regan of Armstrong Atlantic State (8-0).
In singles play, Ramiro Blanco rallied for a 4-6, 7-6, 6-2 victory over Larbi Lamzouri of Campbell in the second round of men's singles 'A'. Blanco's tournament run was ended by Eudaldo Bonet of Armstrong Atlantic State halted his run with a 6-2, 6-2 victory in the quarterfinals.
The men's tennis squad will return to action next weekend as they travel to Athens, Ga. for the Southern Intercollegiate. The four-day event will begin on Friday, Sept. 24th and will conclude on Monday, Sept. 27th.
