Spartanburg, S.C. – There is still time to reserve your spot for the 2014 USC Upstate Advanced High School Infielders Camp scheduled for Jan. 11, 2014, at Cleveland S. Harley Park on the Upstate campus.
Led by Upstate infield coach Ethan Guevin, the Advanced High School Infielders Camp focuses on the skills necessary for high school infielders to take their game to the next level. The camp is available to all high school infielders, including first base, and will focus on both the mental and physical skills needed to be an elite infielder.
The camp will consist of a defensive skills workshop and an hour-long hitting rotation. In the defensive segment, campers will be instructed and participate in drills covering all aspects of infielder play, including a focused infield catch-play routine, the infield mental game, positioning, approaching the ball, fielding/throwing mechanics and footwork.
In the offensive segment, campers will be guided through college hitting drills and be provided the opportunity to showcase their offensive abilities.
The Upstate Advanced High School Infielders Camp is a great opportunity for high school players to showcase their ability, improve their infield game and learn from Division I coaches and players.
Space is limited and campers are encouraged to sign up in advance. For camp questions or to secure your spot, please contact coach Guevin directly at eguevin@uscupstate.edu or by phone at 530-574-3471.
