Goins Leads Spartans at Coca-Cola Wofford Invitational

Spartanburg, S.C. – Gaffney native Adam Goins shot back-to-back rounds of 72 to lead the USC Upstate men's golf team at the Coca-Cola Wofford Invitational Monday afternoon at the Country Club of Spartanburg.
Goins is tied for 22nd after 36 holes of the 54-hole tournament with an even-par 144 total. He helped lead the Spartans to rounds of 298 and 288 as Upstate finished the day with a 586 total and in a tie for 12th on the leaderboard. The 288 shot in the second round ranked in the top half of the rounds carded in the second round.
Wofford shot rounds of 283 and 274 for a 36-hole total of 557 and owns the lead heading into the final round of the tournament on Tuesday. ETSU is second at 565 and is followed by Appalachian State (568), Radford (571), Elon (579), Winthrop (580), Gardner-Webb (580), Presbyterian (581), Furman (582), James Madison (584), Western Carolina (584), Upstate (586), High Point (586), Charleston Southern (592), Longwood (602) and Stetson (608). The Spartans are just seven strokes out of a Top 5 position.
Sebastian Lopez Bulla (Bogota, Colombia), playing in his third tournament of the year, was on top of his game and turned in the lowest round of the day for Upstate, a 71 in the second round. He shot rounds of 75 and 71 for a 146 total and is tied for 34th.
Ryan Cornfield (Dudley, England) shot rounds of 74 and 73 with a 147 total and is tied for 41st. Brian Horton (Boiling Springs, S.C.) is tied for 53rd after shooting 77 and 72 (149), while McKenzie Oref (Easley, S.C.) owns a 157 total with rounds of 79 and 78.
Wofford's Charles Moore shot rounds of 69 and 67 and is in first place on the leaderboard with a 136 total. He owns the lead by one stroke over Appalachian State's Caleb Keck.
