SPARTANBURG, S.C. – USC Upstate men's golf returns home Sunday as the Spartans compete in The Carolina Cup at Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg.
The event has been adjusted to a 36-hole individual tournament, with both rounds scheduled to be played Sunday.
The Carolina Cup marks the third tournament of the 2026-27 campaign for Upstate and the Spartans' first competition at home this season. Upstate enters the weekend following appearances at the Golfweek Fall Challenge and GMAC Invitational.
Upstate began the season with an impressive showing at the Golfweek Fall Challenge, finishing fourth in the 16-team field with a three-round score of 861 (-3). The Spartans were led by freshman Daniel Price, who made an immediate impact in his collegiate debut. Price finished sixth individually at seven-under 209 after rounds of 69, 71 and 69.
Price's performance earned him Big South Men's Golfer of the Week honors, while fellow freshman Siradech Chanha was named the conference's Men's Freshman of the Week. Chanha tied for 23rd at even-par 216, improving in each round with scores of 77, 70 and 69.
Freshman Carsen Stanfield also enjoyed a strong collegiate debut at the Golfweek Fall Challenge, finishing at one-over 217 with two rounds under par, including a second-round 70.
The Spartans most recently competed at the GMAC Invitational in Birmingham, Alabama, where senior Alec Prentice led the Upstate lineup. Prentice posted rounds of 72, 72 and 71 to finish the tournament at five-over 215.
Chanha and senior Cameron Biddle followed at 11-over 221, with Chanha recording Upstate's lowest round of the tournament with a final-round 68. Stanfield finished at 226 (+16), while Price rounded out the lineup at 232 (+22).
Sunday's Carolina Cup gives the Spartans an opportunity to compete on familiar ground at Carolina Country Club, with players battling individually across 36 holes.
