
Upstate Back in Action this Weekend at Camden Collegiate Invitational

Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate men's golf team returns to the course for the first time in two weeks this weekend as it competes at the Second Annual Camden Collegiate Invitational hosted by South Carolina from the par 70, 6,350 yard Camden Country Club.
Upstate will be sending all seven of its players to participate in the Camden Collegiate Invitational in Ryan Cornfield, Taylor White, Sebastian Lopez Bulla, Matt Carter, Tom Schofield, Trey Taylor and Andrew Purcell. Taylor and Purcell are competing as individuals in the 11-team tournament.
The 11 teams, along with the Spartans, participating in the two-day tournament are South Carolina, Charleston Southern, USC-Aiken, Francis Marion, Presbyterian College, Wofford, Furman, Coastal Carolina, Columbia and Georgia Southern.
Upstate tied for ninth out of 15 teams last season at the Camden Collegiate Invitational led by Cornfield who tied for second after shooting the lowest round in school history with a 5-under-par 65 during his second round. The 65 also ranked second all-time on the school's round under-par list.
White was the second-highest finisher for the Spartans as he tied for 13th followed by Lopez Bulla in a tie for 64th place. Schofield rounded out the tournament in a tie for 80th position.
The Spartans turned in a ninth place finish at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate Oct. 5-6 in Raleigh, N.C. Cornfield carded an eighth place performance for Upstate's top individual showing. White followed in a tie for 30th and Lopez Bulla placed in a tie for 36th place. Taylor and Schofield were tied for 69th and 76th, respectively.
The Spartans close out their fall season Nov. 1-3 in Kiawah Island, S.C. at the Wendy's Kiawah Intercollegiate.
