
Upstate Set to Compete at the Badger Invitational

Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate men's golf team returns to the links on Sunday as it opens play at the Badger Invitational hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Madison at the par 72, 7,259 yard University Ridge Golf Course.
Ryan Cornfield, Taylor White, Sebastian Lopez Bulla, Trey Taylor and Tom Schofield will compete for the Spartans.
Upstate is one of 14 teams competing at the three-day event along with: Ball State, Butler, DePaul (Individual), Drake, Illinois State, Kansas, Marquette (Individual), Miami (Ohio), Rutgers, Texas Rio Grande Valley, Western Carolina, William & Mary and Wisconsin. The Badger Invitational kicks off Sunday morning at 9 a.m. as the teams will play 18 holes. The teams will then play 18 holes starting at 9 a.m. on Monday and the final 18 with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.
The Spartans are competing in the Badger Invitational for the third straight season after picking up back-to-back top-5 finishes in 2013 and 2014. Upstate finished third at last season's Badger Invitational and was fourth at the 2013 event.
The Spartans began their fall season two weeks ago as they hosted the inaugural Bridgestone Match Play at the Legends at Chateau Elan in Braselton, Ga. Lopez Bulla picked up two individual victories in matches against Lipscomb and Jacksonville. Schofield also earned a singles win during the final day versus Jacksonville.
