
Spartans Open Road Schedule at Presbyterian College

Spartanburg, S.C. – After opening the 2016-17 season with a 93-35 win over Converse on Friday night inside of the G.B. Hodge Center, the USC Upstate women's basketball team will begin the road portion of its schedule on Monday night as the Spartans travel to Presbyterian College for a 7 p.m. contest.
Friday's victory over Converse was the 200th career win for Upstate head coach Tammy George. Of George's 200 victories, 157 have come at Upstate.
Vanessa Agrusa scored a career-high 16 points in the win while also pulling down a career-high five rebounds. Agrusa finshed 4-for-8 from behind the 3-point line. Coco Ritter also finished with a new career-high 12 points as five Spartans (Agrusa, Raven Jefferson, Tamera Thorpe, Ritter and Riley Popplewell) finished in double figures.
Presbyterian College is 0-1 following a 71-37 defeat at No. 23 Indiana on Friday. Janie Miles led the Blue Hose with 12 points in the loss. Kaycie Reffner pulled down four rebounds.
Upstate leads the all-time series 10-9 with Presbyterian College winning the last meeting 72-64 in Spartanburg on Dec. 2, 2011.
