
Spartans Make Road Trip to Furman on Wednesday

Spartanburg, S.C. – After playing three consecutive games inside of the Hodge Center, the USC Upstate women's basketball team will travel to Furman on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. matchup against the Paladins.
Upstate is 3-4 following a 57-53 loss to Gardner-Webb on Saturday afternoon. Raven Jefferson led the Spartans with 15 points followed by DeNisha Swain with 11. Jefferson leads the Spartans this season averaging 12.9 points per game. A'Lexxus Davis is the leading rebounder with 5.7 rebounds per game.
Furman is 2-4 following a 67-41 win over Newberry at Timmons Arena on Monday night. The Paladins have wins over Newberry and Mars Hill with losses to Fordham, Central Michigan, Eastern Washington and Wake Forest. Jackie Carson is in her seventh season at Furman.
The Paladins lead the all-time series 9-6 and have won two consecutive games over the Spartans thanks to a 75-63 win at the Hodge Center on Dec. 12, 2015.
