
Upstate Stays in Town for A-Sun Tune-Up at Coca-Cola Wofford Invitational

Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate men's golf team will stay home for its final tournament prior to the A-Sun Championships as it is set to participate at the 28th Annual Coca-Cola Wofford Invitational April 11-12 hosted by Wofford at the par-72, 6,648-yard Country Club of Spartanburg.
Upstate head coach Todd Lawton will send a five-player lineup of Ryan Cornfield, Taylor White, Sebastian Lopez Bulla, Tom Schofield and Trey Taylor into action this week. Also competing as individuals are Matt Carter and Andrew Purcell.
The Spartans are one of 14 teams battling for the Coca-Cola Wofford Invitational along with: Appalachian State, Army West Point, Austin Peay, Bethune-Cookman, Charleston Southern, Coastal Carolina, Francis Marion, Gardner-Webb, Georgia Southern, High Point, Longwood, Presbyterian College, Radford, Stetson and Wofford.
The two-day tournament will be made up of 54 holes with 36 being played on Monday and 18 on Tuesday. Tee times for both days will start at 9:30 a.m. with a shotgun start.
Upstate returns to the course for the first time since Mar. 25-27 when it finished third at the Furman Intercollegiate led by Cornfield's individual medalist honors. The Spartans turned in their best performance of the season with the third-place performance, among a 19-team field, shooting a team score of 857. Cornfield tied the tournament record at 13-under 203 en route to the first outright win of his career and second overall. He would also be honored as the A-Sun Men's Golfer of the Week.

Upstate concludes its spring season April 17-19 at the A-Sun Men's Golf Championships from the Legends Course at Chateau Elan in Braselton, Ga.
