Cornfield Earns Second A-Sun Men's Golfer of the Week Award

Macon, Ga. – USC Upstate senior Ryan Cornfield picked up his second A-Sun Men's Golfer of the Week honor in the last three weeks on Thursday afternoon as the conference announced its weekly award winners.
Cornfield led Upstate to a tie for fourth earlier this week at the Coca-Cola Wofford Invitational in Spartanburg in its final tune-up for the A-Sun Championships next week. The Dudley, England native posted his second straight top-10 performance of the season by tying for sixth place after shooting a 5-under 211 for his second-best showing of the year.
He opened the tournament with a 5-under par 67 highlighted by eight birdies in his first round. Following a 74 in round two, Cornfield responded with a 2-under par 70 to move back into the top-10 on the final day.
Cornfield concluded the tournament third among all players in par-4 scoring at 4-under with a scoring average of 3.87. His 15 total birdies were tied for third-most in the event.
It is the fourth career A-Sun Men's Golfer of the Week honor for Cornfield.
