Upstate Currently Sixth after Round Two of A-Sun Championships

Braselton, Ga. – The USC Upstate men's golf team carded a second round 294 on Monday and currently sit in sixth place following day two action at the A-Sun Men's Golf Championships from the par-72, 7,032-yard Legends Course at Chateau Elan.
Upstate cut a total of seven strokes off its day one score and enter final round action on Tuesday three back of fifth place Florida Gulf Coast and seven behind Lipscomb in fourth place at 595. Kennesaw State continues to lead the team standings with a two-round 574 and are ahead by two strokes over North Florida. UNF's Andrew Alligood sits atop the individual leaderboard with a 3-under 141.
Ryan Cornfield compiled a second round 73 and is tied for third place with five other players at even-par 144. Cornfield posted a solid second day with one birdie and 15 pars, and played his final nine holes at even-par 36. The senior currently leads the tournament with a total of 30 pars through 36 holes.
Sebastian Lopez Bulla also turned in a 73 during his second round to stand tied for 15th place at 3-over 147, just three back of Cornfield. Taylor White was the biggest mover of the day for the Spartans after jumping five spots into a tie for 21st with a 71 on Monday. White has a two-day total of 5-over 149.
Trey Taylor and Tom Schofield round out the individual standings for Upstate in 26th and 34th place, respectively. Taylor posted a round of 77 and is at 155 for the tournament while Schofield has a two-day total of 165 after tallying a round of 81.
The final round of the A-Sun Men's Golf Championships begins at 8 a.m. Tuesday morning as the Spartans are scheduled to tee off first.
