Bedell Shoots 67 on Final Day of East Bay Deli Classic

Kiawah Island, S.C. – Reid Bedell carded a final round 67 to finish in a tie for fourth place as the USC Upstate men's golf team closed out play at the East Bay Deli Classic on Tuesday from the par 72, 6,911-yard Turtle Point Golf Course.

Upstate posted its lowest score of the tournament with a final round 292 to finish in eighth place after combining for a score of 905 (320-293-292).

Tennessee won the East Bay Deli Classic by eight strokes over Jacksonville State with a team score of 873 (298-286-289). Charleston Southern's Art Griffin won individual medalist honors with a final round 67 and finished at 3-under 213 (72-74-67) for the tournament.

A LOOK AT THE SCORECARD

The 292 turned in by the Spartans on Tuesday is tied for the second-lowest score this season after registering a 292 during the second round of the Camden Collegiate Invitational.
The lowest round recorded by Upstate in the fall was a second round 291 at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate.
Bedell's 67 is the lowest round this season by a Spartan as Matt Carter posted rounds of 68 and 69, respectively, at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate and Camden Collegiate Invitational. The 67 is also a career-low round for Bedell.
Jordan Warnock had a round of 1-under 71 to finish with the second-lowest score of the day for Upstate.
The Spartans had five rounds in the 70's or better on Tuesday led by the 67 from Bedell.
Bedell was the top individual performer for Upstate in par 3 scoring, par 4 scoring, par 5 scoring and birdies. Bedell finished at 1-under with a 2.92 stroke average in par 3 scoring, 2-under 4.83 stroke average in par 5 scoring, 4.13 stroke average in par 4 scoring and 13 birdies.
Carter had one eagle during the tournament while Sun Paripunna collected a team-leading 33 pars.
Conner Conkel finished at 1-over with a 3.08 stroke average in par 3 scoring and added nine birdies.
Warnock compiled a 4.27 stroke average in par 4 scoring to go with 31 pars.
Paripunna was at 2-under par for the tournament in par 5 scoring and had a 4.83 stroke average.
Carter tallied a 2-over par score on par 3 holes and a 3.17 stroke average.
