Kuzmina Named ASUN Freshman of the Week

LakePoint, Ga. – USC Upstate guard Anda Kuzmina has been named the ASUN Freshman of the Week, conference officials announced this afternoon. It is Kuzmina's first weekly award of the 2017-18 season.
The Riga, Latvia native averaged 10.5 points in two games last week. She led the Spartans with 12 points in Upstate's 63-44 victory over South Carolina State on Saturday and scored nine points while grabbing a career-high five rebounds on Tuesday at William & Mary.
Of Upstate's 11 games, Kuzmina has started all but one and finished in double figures in five games. She has scored nine points in three games.
Upstate returns to action on Saturday, hosting UNC Asheville at 2 p.m.
