
Upstate Wraps Up Road Non-Conference Slate against Oklahoma State

Spartanburg, S.C. – Following two consecutive home games, the USC Upstate women's basketball team will play its final road non-conference game of the 2017-18 season on Tuesday evening as the Spartans travel to Oklahoma State for a 6 p.m. EST contest. This is the first meeting between the schools.
Upstate is 3-9 following a 76-70 loss to UNC Asheville in the Hodge Center on Saturday afternoon. Reigning ASUN Freshman of the Week Anda Kuzmina led the Spartans with a career-high 17 points. Tamera Thorpe scored 14 points off the bench and was joined in double-figures by Morgan Williams with 12 and Brittney Delva with 11. Delva, Thorpe, Williams and A'Lexxus Davis each grabbed six rebounds.
Tuesday's game will serve as a homecoming for Upstate junior and Stillwater, Okla. native Bailey Wensler. Wensler attended Perkins-Tryon HS and was named the conference Player of the Year and All-State as a senior.
Oklahoma State is 7-2 following an 87-72 upset of then-No. 7 UCLA on Dec. 8. The Cowgirls have wins over Incarnate Word, Wichita State, UT Rio Grande Valley, Northwestern State, South Dakota, Southern and UCLA with losses to Tennessee and Mississippi State. Loryn Goodwin leads Oklahoma State with 21.6 points per game followed by Kaylee Jensen with 13.9 Jensen is the top rebounder with 9.3 rebounds per game.
