Carter Receives First Career ASUN Men's Golfer of the Week Honor

LakePoint, Ga. – USC Upstate sophomore Matt Carter has been named the ASUN Men's Golfer of the Week following his individual performance on the course last weekend, it was announced this afternoon by the conference office.
The Easley, S.C. native turned in his best individual performance during the spring season at the Furman Intercollegiate by finishing tied for 14th place to give him three top-15 performances this year. Carter tallied rounds of 72-71-71 to conclude the tournament at 2-under par 214 and is his second-lowest 54-hole total of the season.
Individually, Carter tied for the team-lead at the Furman Intercollegiate with 11 birdies as Upstate finished the tournament with 46. He also ranked tied for fifth among the tournament field in par 3 scoring at even-par with a 3.00 stroke average and tied for sixth with 35 pars.
It is the first ASUN Men's Golfer of the Week accolade for Carter in his career.
The Spartans remain in town April 3-4 for The Coca-Cola Wofford Invitational and will be held at The Country Club of Spartanburg.
