Spartans Wrap Up Summer Collegiate Leagues

Spartanburg, S.C. – Several current and incoming members of the USC Upstate baseball team spent their summer playing in 10 different summer leagues.
Three Spartans were named to All-Star teams in their respective leagues. Devon Ortiz earned a spot on the Coastal Plain League West Division All-Star Team. Blake Whitney was the starting pitcher for the North Division in the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL). Whitney would also see action in the prestigious Cape Cod League. Trey Van Der Weide participated in the Florida Collegiate League All-Star Game.
