Auguste Earns Field Athlete of the Week Honors

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Junior thrower Tony Auguste has been named the Big South Conference Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week, the league office announced on Wednesday. Auguste picks up his second weekly honor of the indoor season after his performance at the South Carolina Invitational this past Friday and Saturday.
The Arlington, Va. native took home the win in the men's shot put with a mark of 15.11 meters, which was the second-best toss in school history. He also broke a school record in the men's weight throw with a fourth place toss of 18.86 meters.
Both marks were personal bests for Auguste.
The Spartans are back in action Feb. 21-22 when they head to Auguste's home state for the Virginia Tech Challenge in Blacksburg, Va.
