Women's Track and Field Named USTFCCCA All-Academic Team

NEW ORLEANS, LA – All-Academic Teams for the 2026 NCAA Division I Women's Track and Field seasons were announced on Monday by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross CountryCoaches Association (USTFCCCA). Â
USC Upstate's women's track and field team was named to the 2026 All-Academic team with a cumulative GPA of 3.40.Â
This marks the third consecutive year the Spartans have been selected as an All-Academic team, head coach Carson Blackwelder continues to be impressed by his athletes, both on and off of the track. "The team has done a great job in the classroom this year. This is one of our highest track team GPAs ever."
The women's track team also had three student-athletes who earned a perfect 4.0 GPA during the Spring 2026 semester:
Ayla Osterkamp | Freshman | Dubuque, Iowa
Gabriela Sanchez | Junior | Spartanburg, S.C.
Sofia Strom | Sophomore | Anderson, S.C.
Criteria to be selected as a USTFCCCA NCAA Division I All-Academic Team include the cumulative GPA for all student-athletes on the institution's NCAA Squad List being a 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period.Â
