
Three Spartans Take Gold, Both Squads Finish Sixth at Big South Championships

BLACKSBURG, Va. – Adanma Uzor and Angelnique Bryant both defended their conference titles at this year's Big South Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships. Jared Henderson joined them in taking home gold, and both the men's and women's squads each placed sixth as a team.
Uzor set a school record with her first place leap of 12.61 meters in the women's triple jump. That mark ranks fourth all-time in Big South history. She had another top-five finish on the weekend as she took fourth in the women's long jump with a mark of 5.61m.
Angelnique Bryant broke a school record in the women's 60m prelims with a time of 7.40, which is the second-best time in Big South history. She proceeded to win the event with a 7.41 in the finals. She also finished fourth in the women's 200m with a time of 24.86.
Jared Henderson set a school record with a win in the men's 200m with a time of 21.23, which is also the fourth-best time in Big South History. He took a runner-up finish with a 6.79 60m time after he broke a school record in the prelims with a time of 6.76.
ZoRyan Hendricks set a school record with a runner-up finish time of 7.93 in the men's 60m hurdles, and Brittany Cox tied a women's 60m hurdle school record in the prelims with a time of 8.657.
The men's team racked up 49 points for sixth place and the women collected 41 points also for sixth place.
Jonathan Loy and Allie Leavitt were named to the Big South Conference All-Academic Team.
