Series History 
USC Upstate and West Virginia have a series dating back to the 2012-2013 season when Upstate was a member of the ASUN Conference. Upstate trails the series 0-2 overall, with the first game resulting in a 75-45 loss in Morgantown. The Spartans most recently played West Virginia in 2016, where Upstate fell 91-33 in Morgantown.

Players to Watch 
Upstate: Freshman Cali Levine had an impressive performance in the Spartans home opener on Monday against Southern Wesleyan. Levine started for the Spartans and led the team in minutes played (28:51) while posting 14 points, three rebounds and two assists. Isabella Geraci also notched 14 points during the home opener, along with six rebounds, and three assists. Tali Roldan led the Spartans in rebounds while tying her career high of 10 rebounds in a single match.  
  

West Virginia: Senior Jayla Hemingway led the Mountaineers in their first exhibition game of the season against Fairmont State. Hemingway recorded 14 total points, one rebound and two assists. JJ Quinerly (12) and Madisen Smith (14) also posted double-digit points in the match while Savannah Samuel led WVU in rebounds (5).
