SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Facing two games as the OneSpartanburg, Inc. Baseball Classic continued Saturday afternoon, USC Upstate baseball picked up two wins in the late innings to improve to 6-1 on the season, defeating Boston College 6-2 and George Mason 2-1 Saturday at Cleveland S. Harley Park.
It was pitching that was the star of the day for the Spartans as six Upstate pitchers combined to allow three runs over 18.0 innings of work with the group combining to permit a .197 opponent's batting average while collecting 18 strikeouts.

Noah Rabon was 5-for-6 on the afternoon, including delivering the walk-off against George Mason. Tallying the Spartans' lone multi-RBI game of the day, senior first baseman
Devin Buckner drove in three of Upstate's six runs in the eighth inning versus Boston College, homering to left to cap the inning.

- T4: Opening the game's scoring, Boston College found itself on the scoreboard as Cameron Leary brought in Travis Honeyman with a single to right.
- B8: Hanging another crooked number on the scoreboard, the Spartans tallied six runs in the eighth. The first runs came following an error by the Eagles' pitcher that allowed Noah Rabon and Cameron MacIntosh to score. Jack Hennessy drove home Cole Caruso with a single to left before Devin Buckner capped the inning with a three-run blast to left.
- T9: Boston College scratched one additional run in the ninth as Peter Burns' RBI single to left-center plated Joe Vetrano.

- T1: George Mason brought home the first run of the game as Danny Hosley sent home South Trimble from third with a groundout to second.
- B7: The Spartans got their run back in a similar fashion to the Patriots' lone run of the game as Cameron MacIntosh plated Noah Rabon with a groundout to second.
- B9: Stepping to the plate after the first two batters of the inning reached base, Rabon walked it off for Upstate as he drove a ball over the head of the leftfielder to bring Devin Buckner from second.
Notable
- Over 18.0 innings of work Saturday, the Spartan pitching staff combined to scatter 13 hits while surrendering just three earned runs. Upstate pitchers held their opponents to a .197 batting average while averaging a strikeout per inning, collecting 18 punchouts over two games.
- Delivering the walk-off hit versus George Mason provided the perfect end to the day for Noah Rabon as he went 5-for-6 at the plate over the Spartans' two games.
- Collecting his fourth consecutive multi-RBI game with a three-run homer against Boston College, Devin Buckner tied Rabon for the team lead in multi-RBI games. His homer also marked his second of the season, joining a grand slam against Ohio last weekend.
