Event Preview
Looking to continue a streak of four consecutive top-six finishes that carries over from the fall schedule, USC Upstate women's golf opens the spring portion of its schedule at the Lady Bison Bay Point Classic from Bay Point Golf Club in Panama City Beach, Fla.
Placing on the All-Tournament Team at each of Upstate's five fall events, redshirt sophomore Preaw Nontarux led the Spartans, finishing no lower than fourth in any tournament this season. She closed the fall with her best overall finish, claiming runner-up honors at the French Broad Collegiate Invite, fashioning scores of 76-71-72-219.
As a team, the Spartans' best finish of the fall came at the Terrier Intercollegiate, tying for third in the 17-team field behind scores of 299-292-305-896. Joining Nontarux among the top-15 golfers on the leaderboard at the Terrier Intercollegiate, redshirt junior Beem Pabsimma and sophomore Suwarin Yord-in each tied for 14th.
Overall, Upstate wrapped the fall portion of its schedule, posting an average round of 298.6 over 15 total rounds with six of the team's 15 rounds falling below their season average. Posting an opening round 285 at the Sea Best Jacksonville Classic, the Spartans carded the lowest team round relative to par in program history.
