Noah Sullivan Makes it Three Weeks in a Row With a Big South Weekly Award for Baseball With Freshman of the Week Honor

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – For the third straight week to open the 2022 season, USC Upstate baseball finds itself a recipient of a conference weekly award from the Big South as Noah Sullivan collected his first Big South Freshman of the Week honors, the league announced Monday afternoon.

An Orlando, Fla. native, Sullivan led the Spartans in batting average and on-base percentage through four games last week, hitting .471 (8-of-17) while posting a .571 on-base percentage, reaching base 12 times in 21 plate appearances. He drove home two runs, scored another run, and was successful in his lone stolen base attempt of the week.

On the mound, he collected Upstate's lone victory, working in relief in the series opener last Friday versus Xavier. The win marked his third in as many appearances on the bump this season, ranking him second in the NCAA in total victories. He tossed 2.0 innings against the Musketeers, striking out three.

Opening his week, Sullivan went 2-for-3 in a midweek clash at Clemson as he reached base four times, being hit by two pitches as well. He collected his lone stolen base of the week against the Tigers. In addition to his stint in relief in the opener of the Xavier series, he went 4-for-5 with an RBI and run scored in Upstate's six-run first inning. He added a 2-for-5 day at the plate Saturday, adding an RBI as he was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded before adding a walk in the series finale Sunday.

Sullivan's selection as Freshman of the Week marks Upstate's third conference weekly award win of the season, joining Devin Buckner (Feb. 21) and Noah Rabon (Feb. 28) who both garnered conference Player of the Week accolades.
