Cross Country Collects One More Accolade as Spartans Named a USTFCCCA All-Academic Team

NEW ORLEANS, La. – Just because they are out of season, does not mean the USC Upstate Cross-Country teams cannot collect post-season honors. Both the men's and women's cross-country teams were named Division I All-Academic teams by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association. Â
Teams needed to post a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Both teams had strong academic performances, as the women's team finished with a 3.34 GPA while the men's team posted a 3.1 finish. Â
Both teams have been named USTFCCCA All-Academic teams since at least 2009. The Spartans joined five other Big South teams in earning the honor (Radford, Charleston-Southern, Longwood, UNC Asheville, and High Point). Â
There were 249 women's cross-country teams which received the honor and 214 men's teams. You can see the full list of All-Academic Teams by clicking these links:Â
