Women's Golf Earns Title at the Eagle Classic, Making it Three Wins in the Team's Last Three Trips to the Event While Supatta Puttanavarat Cards Fourth Hole-In-One in Program History

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Entering the event having captured the team title at the Eagle Classic in each of the program's last two appearances (2019-20 and 2020-21), USC Upstate women's golf pulled off the hat trick, making it three-in-a-row by capturing the tournament title Tuesday afternoon at Rock Hill Country Club.

Leading to the victory, each member of Upstate's five-player lineup captured a top-20 finish, the first time the program accomplished the feat since the 2019-20 season at the USC Upstate One-Day (Sep. 14, 2019). Overall, six Spartans finished inside the top 20 at the event as Upstate posted totals of 318-313-312-943.

Earning All-Tournament Team honors, redshirt senior Preaw Nontarux placed third on the final leaderboard, fashioning scores of 77-75-79-231. Two other Spartans joined Nontarux in the top 10 as senior Suwarin Yord-in and sophomore Rylie Kosney slotted sixth and 10^th behind scores of 79-80-74-233 and 82-76-81-239, respectively.

Freshman Supatta Puttanavarat and junior Alexis Rieli added another pair of top-15 finishers for the Spartans as Puttanavarat carded marks of 84-79-78-241 to place 11^th while Rieli wrote in totals of 79-79-85-243 to tie for 13^th. Placing 19^th, freshman Madison Dixon marked down tallies of 83-82-81-246 to round out the sextet of top-20 finishers.

Upstate's tournament championship at the Eagle Classic extends the program's streak of consecutive seasons with at least one tournament victory to six, a streak dating back to the 2018-19 season.

Notable

Doing so on the Par-3 second hole at Rock Hill Country Club, Supatta Puttanavarat became the third player (fourth occassion) to card a hole-in-one in program history. She joins Johanna Edenhag and Allea Hawkins (twice) in accomplishing the feat.
Bringing home the tournament championship, Upstate has captured the team championship at the Eagle Classic in each of the program's last three trips to the event.
With its victory at the Eagle Classic, the Spartans have won a tournament championship in each of the past six seasons, a streak dating back to the 2018-19 season.
