Men's Golf Shaves Strokes off the Team's 54-Hole Scoring Total in Each Round as Play Concludes at the Daniel Island Intercollegiate

DANIEL ISLAND, S.C. – Closing the team's penultimate event of the fall season and the final event before the team's chance to preview the host for the 2024 Big South Men's Golf Championship, USC Upstate men's golf saw its 54-hole team total improve with each subsequent round as play concluded at the Daniel Island Intercollegiate Tuesday.

Seeing each subsequent round feature an improved score, three members of the team's five-player lineup fashioned a tournament-low individual round during the event's final round. All three Spartans to see their lowest 18-hole totals during the final round jumped up multiple spots on the leaderboard at the conclusion of the event.

Leading the Spartans and jumping seven spots on the leaderboard following round three, senior Zander Briggs carded marks of 75-78-74-227 as he finished 64^th. His 54-hole scoring total of 227 stands as his third—through four events—54-hole scoring total of 227 or better on the season. Behind Briggs on the leaderboard, junior Jaskaran Sohal wrote down totals of 79-75-78-232, tying for 76^th on the final leaderboard.

As a team, Upstate shaved a total of four strokes off the team's 54-hole scoring total from round one to round three as play at the Daniel Island Intercollegiate wound down. For the event, the Spartans marked in tallies of 311-310-307-928, finishing 18^th.
