Series History
In the OneSpartanburg, Inc. Baseball Classic, USC Upstate hosts three teams who are returning to the Upstate region to continue their series with the Spartans. Michigan State and Upstate have met twice, once in 2015 and once in 2020 with the Upstate Spartans winning in 2020 7-4 at Fluor Field. The Spartans own a 3-0 record against Toledo, sweeping the Rockets in a three-game series in 2021. Against Northwestern, the Spartans and Wildcats split a two-game set in 2020.

Players to Watch
Upstate: Going 6-for-10 in the Spartans midweek series at North Florida, sophomore designated hitter Noah Sullivan upped his average to a team-best .471 as he's 8-for-17 at the plate this season. In the two-game set with the Ospreys, he drove home five runs, recording multi-hit and multi-RBI games in both games. He capped the series with his second career multi-homer game, hitting a pair of solo shots.

Michigan State: Through four games on the season, first baseman Brock Vradenburg leads Michigan State with 10 hits, going 10-for-18 to open the season at the Desert Invitational. He has three three-hit games on the season and notched multi-RBI efforts against Michigan and Grand Canyon. Of his 10 hits, two have gone for extra bases as he leads the Spartans with 13 total bases.

Toledo: In a three-game series at East Tennessee State, shortstop Jeron Williams set the table atop the Rockets' order as he leads the team with a .385 batting average through three games. He picked up multi-hit efforts in each of the first two games of the season and scored a pair of runs in Toledo's win last Saturday.

Northwestern: Leading the Wildcats in a three-game series at Texas State, first baseman Stephen Hrustich reached base eight times during the series, picking up four hits and four walks. He finished the series 4-for-10 at the plate, picking up a multi-hit game with a 2-for-3, two-RBI, and two-run day in game three against the Bobcats.
