Competing for the final time ahead of the Big South Women's Golf Championships, USC Upstate women's golf heads back to an event and a course that brought the program much success ahead of a Championship run last season, competing at the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate at Mimosa Hills Country Club in Morganton, N.C.
Last season, the Spartans turned in three sub-300 rounds en route to a runner-up finish, fashioning marks of 293-285-299-877 in one of the program's most successful events. Upstate enters the 2023 iteration of the event with similar goals in its final tune-up ahead of the postseason.
Junior Suwarin Yord-in enters off her best career finish, tying for seventh at the Low Country Intercollegiate as she carded scores of 80-73-153 in the weather-shortened event. Joining her as a top-30 finisher, redshirt junior Preaw Nontarux tied for 28th behind scores of 79-81-160.
The Spartans are coming off their sixth consecutive top-10 team finish at the event, tying for seventh with scores of 321-315-636. The streak for Upstate dates back to last fall with the program finishing top-10 in seven of eight events this season.
