Series History
Meeting in consecutive seasons, USC Upstate and Georiga meet for the second time in the Spartans' Division I era (2007-pres.) Wednesday evening. The Bulldogs—ranked 18^th at the time—took last season's meeting, a midweek game on March 15 by a score of 15-3. In last season's meeting, redshirt junior shortstop Troy Hamilton collected the Spartans' lone multi-RBI game with a two-run home run, his first in an Upstate uniform.

Players to Watch
Upstate: Establishing the Spartans' Division I era (2007-pres.) records for single-season home runs and RBI last week, ending the week with 14 homers and 57 RBI, redshirt junior first baseman Grant Sherrod earned his second career Big South Player of the Week honor. He enters the midweek riding a career-long 20-game reached base streak and a career-long nine-game hitting streak as during the hitting streak he's hitting .421 with six home runs and 15 RBI. Sherrod's 14 homers this season rank second in the Big South while his 57 RBI leads the conference heading into the new week.
 
Georgia: Hitting three home runs in the Bulldogs' series against No. 6 Tennessee, first baseman Charlie Condon tied the Southeastern Conference's freshman home run record, equaling Pedro Alvarez's 2006 total with his 22^nd home run of the season. Heading into Wednesday's game, he represents Georgia's top hitter, posting a .410 batting average as he ranks third in the NCAA in homers while totaling 150 bases and driving home 61 runs.
 
Up Next for the Spartans
Coming off the first midweek contest in the team's eight-game road swing, Upstate returns to Big South action this weekend with a trip to the Lowcountry for a three-game series at Charleston Southern. The Spartans and Buccaneers open the series Friday at 5 p.m. before continuing Saturday at 4 p.m. and closing the series Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
