Women's Basketball Heads to the G.B. Hodge Center for the First Time in 2024-25, Hosting Western Carolina in Saturday Matinee

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Coming off its first victory of the 2024-25 season, USC Upstate women's basketball competes in front of a home crowd for the first time in the new campaign Saturday, welcoming Western Carolina to the G.B. Hodge Center for a Saturday matinee. The Spartans and Catamounts meet for the fourth consecutive season and the fifth time in the past six seasons—the two clubs did not meet in 2020-21 due to the COVID-19 global pandemic.

Dropping 16 points, adding an and-one conversion off her final trey, she ended the evening two points shy of her career-high scoring output with her best scoring output in a Spartan uniform following a transfer from Presbyterian. She averages 7.0 points per game on the season, shooting the three-ball at a 42.9 percent clip (6-of-14).

Western Carolina: Averaging 13.3 points per game and twice scoring in double-figures this season, graduate student guard AC Carter is making an immediate impact for the Catamounts following a transfer from Georgia Tech. She enters Saturday's contest shooting 39.1 percent (18-of-46) from the field, 50.0 percent (6-of-12) from three, and 73.3 percent (11-of-15) from the free throw line while adding a team-high 6.0 rebounds per game for Western Carolina.
