SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Coming off the team's first Big South Conference win and opening the second of three two-game road swings in league play, USC Upstate women's basketball faces another regional rival, taking a short trip to Gardner-Webb Saturday. The Spartans enter the latest meeting between the two foes having swept last season's two meetings.

Players to Watch
USC Upstate: The lone double-figure scorer for the Spartans in their win against UNC Asheville, junior guard Jeni Levine poured in a career-high 21 points, the first 20-plus point game by a Spartan this season. Of her 21 points, 16 came in the fourth quarter as she surpassed her previous season-high (15 points) in the quarter alone. Levine also tied the program's Division I era (2007-pres.) record for free throws made in a single game, knocking down 15 versus the Bulldogs.

Gardner-Webb: The Preseason Big South Player of the Year, senior guard Ashley Hawkins enters the weekend leading the conference in scoring, averaging 18.2 points per game as she's scored in double-figures 15 times this season. In the Runnin' Bulldogs' non-conference finale, she dropped a league-high 47 points against Queens. She complements her scoring total with 76 assists, 69 rebounds, and 21 steals.
