Women's Basketball Begins Stretch of Games Against SEC Foes with Monday Trip to Georgia

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Following the team's home opener, a 76-54 victory Thursday evening against Erskine, USC Upstate women's basketball returns to the road, continuing its stretch—three of the first four games of the season—against Power-Four opponents. The Spartans begin a set of consecutive games against Southeastern Conference foes, travelling to Georgia Monday night for a 6:30 p.m. ET tip.

Players to Watch
USC Upstate: Returning after missing much of last season due to injury, redshirt junior guard Aubrie Kierscht led the Spartans with an Upstate career-high 16 points versus Erskine, marking her second straight contest to open the year leading Upstate in scoring. She knocked down five three-pointers in the contest, giving her a league-leading seven triples through two games. She enters Monday's contest shooting 50.0 percent from three in an Upstate uniform, hitting 19 of 38 attempts from distance.

Georgia: Through two games, sophomore guard Dani Carnegie, the 2024-25 SEC Sixth Player of the Year, leads the Bulldogs in scoring, averaging 16.5 points per game. She's shooting 52.6 percent (10-of-19) from the field and 50.0 percent (7-of-14) from beyond the arc on the season while adding 12 rebounds, four assists, and three steals.

Staying on the road, Upstate faces another Southeastern Conference opponent Wednesday, heading to the Bluegrass State for the first time this season for a meeting with No. 20 Kentucky. Tip-off between the Spartans and Wildcats is slated for 6:30 p.m. ET on Nov. 12.
