Two School Records Fall and 24 Spartans Reach New Personal Bests at the First Outdoor Meet of the Season

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – USC Upstate Track and Field opened the outdoor season at the 49er Classic. The meet saw 24 Spartans race to new personal bests, 24 top-ten finishes, and two school records being broken.

Day One: Jessa Beach led the Spartans on Friday, finishing second in the women's hammer throw with a distance of 178'1". Eastin Burch finished third in the men's javelin with a distance of 189'2".

Day Two: The second day of the meet saw two school records fall, one from Jeremiah Harris in the 200m with a time of 21.12. Harris finished third in the event overall. Jamarcus Askew broke the school record in the men's triple jump with a height of 48'8", placing third in the event.
