Upstate Softball returns to Cyrill Stadium hosting a pair of SoCon Opponents with ETSU on Tuesday and Wofford on Wednesday

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Returning to the Hawkins Field at Cyrill Stadium following a four-game stretch away, USC Upstate Softball will have a three-game slate in two days hosting a pair of SoCon Opponents beginning with doubleheader action with East Tennessee State University on Tuesday, April 14 and one game with Wofford on Wednesday, April 15th.

Players to Watch

USC Upstate: Senior Outfielder, Amie Johnson had her best statistical week of the season leading Upstate with a .625 batting average through four games played during the week of Apr. 6-11. Johnson surpassed 100 career hits following a base hit up the middle against #14 University of Georgia. Johnson followed her third multi-hit game of the season going 2-for-2 at the plate in Game One of the Big South weekend series at Winthrop. Johnson's contributions did not stop there as she added a base hit, an RBI, and one run in the shutout win in Game Two. Through four games played in the week, Amie Johnson recorded a hit through all games played, moving her season average to .317. With 20 hits and six RBI on the year, Johnson adds a .978 fielding percentage with 44 putouts including a new season-high of five putouts on Friday, April 10. As Johnson continues to add her leadership and contributions through her senior season, she will be a player to keep an eye on through three games played during the week of Apr. 13-19.

ETSU: Sophomore Infielder, Payton Moore leads the Bucs batting .333 while adding 27 hits, six doubles, seven home runs, 19 RBI and a .667 slugging percentage. Moore adds six multi-hit games (five with two, one with three) which is second on the team while being third on the team with six multi-RBI games (five with two, one with three). Moore adds a 1.000 fielding percentage with nine putouts and one double play. As ETSU looks to snap their losing streak, Payton Moore will be a player to watch in doubleheader action as she looks to lead the Bucs in the lineup.

Wofford: Junior Utility, Desirae Devine is ranked second on the Terriers batting .409 while adding 38 hits, seven doubles, one triple, 22 RBI and a team leading 21 stolen bases. Devine did not appear in the February 24 matchup against Upstate but has since been a key contributor to Wofford' success. Devine is one of three players on the Terriers with double-digit multi-hit games with 11 (nine with two, two with three) while adding five multi-RBI games (four with two, one with three). Devine had a hitting streak of 12 earlier in the season, adding to the 335 team hits for Wofford. Devine will be a player to keep an eye on in the Wednesday matchup as the crosstown matchup renews.
