Men's Golf Receives PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award

NORMAN, Okla. – The USC Upstate men's golf team adds to a historic season, most recently being recognized for its excellence in the classroom, earning a 2025-26 PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award from the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
The Spartans were one of a GCAA-record 331 programs across six collegiate divisions to receive the annual team academic honor, which recognizes teams that achieved a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.0 during the 2025-26 academic year. USC Upstate was also one of 88 NCAA Division I programs to earn the Presidents Special Recognition, achieving a team GPA of over a 3.50. This is the second consecutive year the Spartans have received this honor from the GCAA.
The annual GCAA academic awards recognize collegiate men's golf programs that demonstrate outstanding achievement in the classroom while competing at a high level on the course.
Established in 1958, the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) is the professional organization of men's collegiate golf coaches. The GCAA's mission is to support its member coaches from six divisions, including the NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA, by creating educational opportunities, providing resources, and promoting its members with the purpose of enhancing their overall performance as coaches, mentors, and teachers.
