2018-19 (Senior): Played in all 32 games during the season with 5 starts. He averaged 17.6 minutes per game and 4.8 points per game. He scored a total of 152 points with a season high of 16 against Longwood on Feb. 16th. Welch also had 36 rebounds, 25 assists, 4 blocks, and 16 steals. 2017-18 (Jumior): Played in 26 contests with no starts…Averaged 1.5 points per game…Played in an average of 6.8 minutes per game…Scored a season-high nine points on three 3-pointers at Kennesaw State while grabbing a season-best three minutes…Added seven points in the home opener versus Allen…Dished out three assists at Gardner-Webb…Appeared in a season-best 19 minutes twice against Gardner-Webb and Kennesaw State.
Prior to USC Upstate: Played two seasons for head coach Travis Harrett at South Georgia Technical College…As a sophomore, played in all 33 games and registered 29 starts while averaging 9.6 points per game…Ranked 13th in the GCAA in 3-point field goal percentage at 37.8 percent…Made the game-winning basket in a 76-74 win over Gordon State in the first round of the NJCAA Regional XVII Tournament…As a freshman, played in 17 games with eight starts before suffering an injury…Averaged 6.2 points per game.
High School: Graduated from Pembroke Academy after leading the team to back-to-back state championships in 2013 and 2014…Was named the D-II Player of the Year in 2014 following a season in which he averaged 24.0 points per game…Finished prep career second in school history with 1,907 points…Also spent a season at Notre Dame Preparatory School.
