PRIOR TO UPSTATE: Graduated from Durant HS (Fla.) playing softball four years with a batting average .370 and 2.03 ERA with 140 innings pitched and 197 strikeouts....was a member of the Florida Thunderbolts travel ball team (Gatewood and Breadmore) with a 2.04 ERA followed by a .340 batting average and won the triple crown finals....was a member of the National Honor Society, FCA Leader, Math Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta.
