PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Freshman distance runner Emily Tangwar represented USC Upstate at the prestigious Penn Relays and competed in the women's 10,000 meters, in which she finished 13th out of 27 runners, Thursday night at Franklin Field.
Tangwar, who was competing in the 10,000 meters for the first time, finished with a time of 36:24.96 beating out runners from schools such as Mississippi State, Florida State and Florida. She is the first Upstate track and field athlete to compete at the Penn Relays.
"Emily did very well," USC Upstate assistant track and field coach Ed Schlichter said. "It was a great experience for her and a great experience for Upstate to be represented at this huge meet."
